Welcome to Pack 870!

What is Cub Scouts?

Cub Scouts is a year-round program with focused Den and Pack activities and learning opportunities from September to May, with an annual campout and summer fun planned in the months of June - August. The program year typically begins in August/September.  The program offers fun activities, service projects, ceremonies, and games that promote character development, citizenship, and physical fitness.

Family involvement is an essential part of Cub Scouting, and parents are encouraged to play an active role in the program.  Through interaction with parents, leaders, and friends, scouts learn cooperation, compassion, and courage.  This family- and community-centered approach to learning means that Cub Scouting is truly time well spent.

Cub Scouting is designed for children entering Kindergarten through 5th grades in the fall, generally ages 5-11. Each den is divided by grade level as follows:

Kindergarten is Lions
1st Grade is Tigers
2nd Grade is Wolves
3rd Grade is Bears
4th Grade is Webelos, which stands for "We'll be Loyal Scouts".
5th Grade is Arrow of Light. Once a scout is halfway through 5th grade, they can choose to move on and join Boy Scouts.

If you have more questions or are interested in joining, please use the Contact Us link on the left to send us a message.
